PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE
Deliverables and Milestones Along the Product Development Lifecycle
Phase 1 : MVP prototype
Planning & Documentation
4-8 Weeks
The planning & Documentation Phase is the initial phase where Teksun undertakes several activities like REQ Review, Documentation, Solution Building, Requirement Discussion, Documentation, and MVP Development. MVP Development is an optional activity and needs to be carried out only if required. After the successful completion of this phase, one is entitled to receive a Product Requirement Document, Architecture Specification, Ballpark (BOM), and MVP Prototype (if required).
Phase 2 : Beta prototype
Development
12-52 Weeks
The Development phase lends you with 5-20 Fabricated Functional Prototype Units. This development is a result of a broad range of activities like the Final BOM, Schematic and Layout Files, PCB Gerber Data, Firmware Source Code & Binary, Mobile App Source Code & Installable File, Web App Source Code & Live Web App, and Mechanical Design Files & Renderings. This phase stands for complete development-related activities and consumes an approx of 12 – 52 weeks as per the different projects and their specific requirements.
Phase 3 : Alpha Prototype
Certification
4-16 Weeks
As the project gains pace, we tap into the Alpha Prototype Development. Herein, Teksun takes your project through activities like Redesign Schematic & Layout, Remanufacturing Prototype, Pre-certification Test, Certification Test, and Mechanical Mold Manufacturing. The completion of these activities finally delivers you, in a matter of 4-16 weeks, the certified prototype, certificate, mechanical mold, product testing lab reports, and injection molded prototypes.
Phase 4 : Production Ready Prototype
Production-Ready Unit
4-8 Weeks
Spread across a period of 4-8 weeks, Phase 4 is decked with activities like Final Production Related Design Modification, Final Manufacturing Files Generation, DFM Analysis, and DFM Development. After the completion of the suggested activities, this phase is meant to provide you, the final design blueprints, including the Schematic, Layout, BOM, Gerber File, Mobile App Binary, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Instruction Notes, Live Web App, and Cloud API, 100-200 units of the production-ready prototype.
Phase 5 : Mass Production
Production
Ongoing
This phase is the final phase and brings the concept of Mass Production to light. The activities followed for this phase include PCB Fabrication, PCB Assembly, Component Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Injection Molding, Final Product Testing, Testing Jig, Final Product Assembly, Assembly Product Testing, Packaging Materials, Final Product Packaging, and Shipment. This phase is an ongoing process and stands to deliver everything from the Small Batch Run of 500 – 1000 units, Medium Batch Run of 1000 – 5000 units, Scaling Batch of 5000+ units, to Mass Production Batch of 10000+ units.
